26/02/07 We have purchased through Ideal Homes, not via any agents in the UK, but by calling into the offices in Almerida, we found to date everything has been as promised, although delay to start with over plans.
We were made aware of the New Century connection from day one, and nothing was hidden.
Plans and designs shown to us were different from NC, and were personally designed by Antononia Diamantakis herself. We were allowed our own input and had our say regarding some details in the design. The site has now been cleared and we are getting, as promised pics and updates on the progress. Ok we are at an early stage but so far we have no complaints at all, we found no high pressure at all, we were given the choice to use an independent lawyer of our own choice, which we found in Chania.
We did get the impression that the specs were different to NC, and after making our own enquries, can confirm they are different, even down to internal paint colour choice. At this stage then no complaints and very pleased.

31/01/07 This company is part of New Century. I came across them through a friend who had looked at New Century houses through Foremost Villas. New Century's head office in Crete passed them to their other company Ideal Homes as it avoids paying the UK agent 10% commission and so you can get a better price on a New Century house. The salesman explained that Ideal Homes do offer much better quality than their parent company and when I was shown round I was assured that the dreadful damp and mould problems that New Century homes suffer from will not occur with theirs as the materials used (and insulation!) are superior to NC. I was most impressed during the time I was being shown around, and may buy this year. I am however nervous of all the problems encountered by so many clients of their parent company New Century, and having spoken to some of the poor people who have defective titles, debts and seriously faulty houses, need to be totally convinced that Ideal Homes is properly separate from its struggling parent. Worth a look but tread carefully! Name Supplied
